Emily Purvis - Our President, was the SWIC secretary for the past several years. She is scheduled to lecture this coming year at a couple of seminars. Emily began her imaging career at a small orthopedic clinic in 1996 She is a single mom of a teenaged son and enjoys quilting and killing growing various plants in her container garden. She not sure of the definition of this strange thing called "retirement".
Carrie Isaacks - Our President-Elect, currently works in Southwest Houston and is preparing for her MRI registry. She lives with her husband and their many pets. Carrie's favorite pastimes include church, horseback riding, and needle crafts. She is a proud mother to three grown daughters and plans to retire from imaging on January 1, 2029.
Rosheena Jones - Our Vice President, has been a SWIC member for approximately 4 years and this is her second year as an officer. She grew up in Michigan and then came to Houston where she got her Associate's Degree followed by ultrasound and MRI. She has worked in a variety of settings bringing a great perspective to SWIC. She is a proud mama to a daughter in college and enjoys watching movies and attending church. Retirement is a distant dream.
Max Mitchell - Our Secretary, is also our multimedia & technology coordinator, who recently designed the new website and calendar. Max is working towards his Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging at UTMD Anderson where he has also been elected into the student senate by his peers. Max volunteers ten hours a week in Diagnostic Imaging between both St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital and Methodist Sugar Land Hospital where he is learning CT & MRI. Besides volunteering and learning about Diagnostic Imaging his personal interests include Genetics & Virology or just about anything on the front page of Science Daily. Max says his long term goal is to be a pillar in the Diagnostic Imaging community.
Patricia Cline - Our Treasurer, is a charter officer with SWIC since its humble beginnings in 2000. She retired from working in CT at Southwest Hospital and now enjoys doting on her beloved grandchildren and traveling, especially to New Mexico. Patty resides on the west side with her husband and ferocious dog, Gizmo.
Evelyn Walston - A Board Member, was born in Freer, Texas, and started her professional career after graduating from Tarkington High School in Cleveland, Texas. She entered RN training after graduation but after being in the hospital environment decided to choose the field of radiologic technology. The Methodist Hospital School of Radiological Technologist in Houston, Texas was her school of choice. When the college based programs started she received an Associate's Degree at Houston Community College.
Like most, she explored the possibilities of employment and finally chose Memorial Hermann Hospital System with 20 years at Memorial Southeast and 8 years at Memorial Southwest where she retired in 2002.
Evelyn's radiology career involved being a clinical instructor at both Houston Community College and San Jacinto College. The last 27 years she worked as a weekend trauma tech and weekend supervisor.
Today she continues to serve her profession by being involved in Houston's three radiological societies. SWIC, BAMIS and Harts. She schedules approximately sixty hours of continuing education for the local societies and is currently a member of the board with Southwest Imaging Council.
Edith Strybos - A Board Member, is returning for another year as a board member with SWIC. She is a hard core radiographer working in diagnostic since 1949. Her first imaging job was in Galveston at a clinic for $325 per month. Edie is an active Boy Scout volunteer and enjoys traveling every chance she gets. She has two sons and a stubborn black lab.
Charlotte Robertson - A Board Member, is a charter member of SWIC. She trained at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi and her first x-ray job paid $600 per month. She lives with her husband and four dogs and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Charlotte is currently working at a clinic in southwest Houston and "plans" to someday retire.
Carolina Oseguera - A Student Representative, is part of our Student Leadership Program which was designed for highly motivated individuals who wish to excel in their field of study and take on leadership responsibilities. Carolina is a student in the Diagnostic Imaging Program at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center's School of Health Professions.
Trucquynh (Quynh) Nguyen - A Student Representative, is part of our Student Leadership Program which was designed for highly motivated individuals who wish to excel in their field of study and take on leadership responsibilities. Quynh graduated with a Bachelorette Degree in Marketing from University of Houston in 2005 but wanting to persue something more fulfilling Quynh's heart is in the medical field. Currently Quynh is excited about starting her Ultra-Sound program at Harris County Hospital District.
