Emily Purvis, RT(R) - Our Board Chair served as our President in 2009, and served as our Secretary prior to that. She has also taught several lectures at our past seminars. Emily began her imaging career at a small orthopedic clinic in 1996 She is a single mom of a teenaged son and enjoys quilting and
killinggrowing various plants in her container garden. She's not sure of the definition of this strange thing called "retirement".
Carrie Isaacks, RT(R) - Our President, currently works in Southwest Houston and is preparing for her MRI registry. She lives with her husband and their many pets. Carrie's favorite pastimes include church, horseback riding, and needle crafts. She is a proud mother to three grown daughters and plans to retire from imaging on January 1, 2029.
Max Mitchell, RT(R) - Our Treasurer previously served as our Secretary. Max is working towards his Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging. When time permits Max volunteers in the Diagnostic Imaging Departments at St. Luke's Sugar Land Hospital and Methodist Sugar Land Hospital where he helps out staff in the Radiology department. Besides volunteering and learning about the latest adancements in Diagnostic Imaging his personal interests include Genetics & Virology or just about anything on the front page of Science Daily. Max would like to continue his education and get his Masters Degree in Radiologic Science at Midwestern State University before working on a Doctoriate in Education but says his long term goal is to be a pillar in the Diagnostic Imaging community.
Carolina Oseguera, RT(R) - is our Secretary. Carolina grew up in Mexico City and moved to the United States 15 years ago. She worked managing racehorse farms for 8 years and is a student at MD Anderson since 2009. She is completing her Bachelor’s degree in diagnostic imaging and she obtained her license as a radiology technologist in August of 2011. Carolina is now a senior at MD Anderson and she is specializing in Computed Tomography. She will graduate with a Bachelors in Diagnostic Imaging and obtain her Computed Tomography license in August of 2012.
Trucquynh (Quynh) Nguyen - A Student Representative, is part of our Student Leadership Program which was designed for highly motivated individuals who wish to excel in their field of study and take on leadership responsibilities. Quynh graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from University of Houston in 2005 but wanting to persue something more fulfilling Quynh's heart is in the medical field. Currently Quynh is excited about finishing up her Ultrasound program at the Harris County Hospital District.
Wilton Muriithi - A Student Representative, grew up in Kenya and moved to the United States 10 years ago. He worked as a quality laboratory technologist for 4 years, then Quality control pharmacy technician for a mail order pharmacy for another 4 years. Wilton got accepted in University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's School of Health Professions in 2010 to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in diagnostic imaging in 2013 and will obtain his license as a radiology technologist in August of 2012. Currently, he is planning on specializing in MRI upon radiography completion.
